Tejeda (Gran Canaria)


Tejeda is a municipality belonging to the Spanish province of Las Palmas (Canary Islands), located in the center of the island of Gran Canaria. The municipality comprises the so-called Tejeda caldera, a volcanic formation of deep gorges cut by the rocks that stand are two geological symbols of the island Roque Roque Nublo and Bentayga.

Miguel de Unamuno immortalized the expression of "Storm petrified" to describe a geological formation of volcanic rocks that emerge from the cliffs, with landscapes that are part of the frame advertising to attract tourists.
The village lies within a volcanic caldera. This is a "cauldron of collapse" of geological formation very similar to Caldera on the island of La Palma. This is caused by collapsing the roof of a magma into the bag.

There are a variety of accommodation in the town. In the Cruz de Tejeda National Parador there and numerous cottages. This is due to tranquility, hospitality and nature that offers Tejeda and its people to the visitor.
