Agaete (Gran Canaria)

Agaete is a Canarian municipality belonging to the province of Las Palmas, located northwest of the island of Gran Canaria, 1 hour from the capital by bus.

Of note is the old town, the port of Las Nieves to the Atlantic Ocean, communicated regularly by ferry to the island of Tenerife, and Los Berrazales (cliff top, with lush vegetation). In the latter area, at the foot of pine Tamadaba, stands an old abandoned house hotel.

On the other hand we must point out these great festivities in honor of the Virgen de las Nieves. Where lots of people arrived from all the islands come to enjoy the famous festival of "La Rama", with music from the band Agaete. This holiday has been declared a national tourist holiday interest.

In addition to its hotels, several restaurants where you can enjoy fresh fish as a specialty, with a good wine.
Images appear in my memories from when I was little, when I visited that place and went in search of God's finger image and then searching for the camels and donkeys that there had, to which we could jump on paying a certain amount and enjoy the views of the town.
