A unique experience on a Jet Ski at Anfi

Last summer I had the chance to try a new experience in one of the best artificial beaches of the island, Anfi del Mar. If you can afford to pay for renting the Jet Ski for half an hour, have to say it has a very economic price, it’s something you should try once in your life!

For me it was the first time trying it and I can say it’s been one of the best safe ways to release adrenaline. You can reach high speeds, feel the wind in your face, get wet, and a nice way to have fun during the day

El Frontón (Gran Canaria)

This place is situated in Gáldar City, 26 km from the Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. Galdar is a small city placed to feet of a volcano.



"El Frontón" is a place to surfers and adrenaline addict. "El Frontón" is only one, powerfull and demand courage and experience.
The wave break up in two differents directions and these waves hit in the way what it provokes a tremendous snap and it makes possible Jumps, pipes and other filigranes.

The experience boat in south of Gran Canaria

This is my first experience in these boats, I have traveled on several cruise ships and ferries, but never in a motorboat.
The first impression he gives is that of being climbed on top of a table to catch waves, the boat moves a lot but as it reaches adequate velocity that feeling disappears and the sensation of feeling the sea breeze on your face.



I have to say that in the Canary Islands are one people with the sea culture rooted in the blood, is something that comes from birth, and we feel the sea as our own.

La Graciosa (Canary Islands)

Diving in Tufia Beach (Gran Canaria)

Me and my three friends have spent a great day of diving at the Tufia Beach (Telde - Gran Canaria). For those not familiar Tufia that the beach is a protected nature reserve, which has an archaeological site, several caves, and a great diversity of marine species.

The idea of going to Tufia to dive quickly emerged idea of a friend of mine, Andres, asked me to spend a day watching the seabed from the beach. As everything went very quickly, we went with the little material we had, sunglasses, tubes, fins, gloves and two video cameras water.


Once everything is ready, we headed for the car Tufia beach, where we decided to delve high tide and sea in the area of the rocks. Shortly thereafter, we were under water enjoying the beautiful scenery.


Without doubt, this small neighborhood has great fishing marine reserve and archeological discover.

Every five years, in June, July and August, Santa Cruz de la Palma
celebrates the Bajada de la Virgen de las Nieves, its most important
celebration in honour of the Patron Saint of the island, the Virgen de
Las Nieves. This celebration repeats the order given by the bishop
Bartolomé García Ximénez in 1676 to take the Madonna of Las Nieves in
procession from the Church of Las Nieves to the town centre to implore
her to end a devastating drought which had destroyed harvests and killed
people and animals. In gratitude for the end of the drought, it was
decided that this celebration would be repeated every five years from
1680 onwards.
The heart of the Bajada de la Virgen is split up into two weeks: the so-
called Semana Chica and the so-called Semana Grande. The former begins on
the last Sunday of June, with the "Romería". It is when Palmeros, wearing
the typical costume, carry the 42 pieces of the silver altarpiece from
las Nieves church to El Salvador church, where the Madonna will stay for
nearly a month. During this week, some events such as the Pandorga, an
evening parade reserved for children along the dark streets of the
downtown carrying candle lanterns of different colours and shapes (stars,
dragons, cars etc.), accompanied by the music of a band.

The so-called The Big Week begins on the second Sunday of July and it
encompasses the highlights of this celebration, including the parade of
the Mascarones (Gigantes y cabezudos), that is, big-headed dolls
representing different characters such as the Bruja (witch), Luna de
Valencia (the Moon) or the Biscuit. On Wednesday, they perform the Minué
or a 18th century dance dating from 1945. It was introduced to replace a
dance of children. Every year it has different music, composed by the
Palmeran Luis Cobiella Cuevas.

However, the highlight of the festival is the Danza de los Enanos, born
to honour the Virgen de las Nieves. It dates from 1833 on occasion of the
celebration of Corpus Christi. Don Manuel Díaz (born in 1774 and dead in
1863) priest of El Salvador church, who was very open-minded and fond of
celebrations, made sassy devils of modeled paper for this dance. Félix
Martín Pérez, teacher of Escuela de Artes y Oficios de Santa Cruz de La
Palma, went on using this material in this century. In the last editions
of Bajada de la Virgen, plastic fiber has been used instead.
In 1905, Miguel Salazar, a merchant and person in charge of organizing
this event, had a brilliant idea of introducing a transformation: in the
first part of this event, men sing and dance dressed as monks, Japanese,
seamen, astronomers, students, Greeks etc. In every Bajada both the dance
and the song has to be different. On the contrary, the polka that
accompanies the Danza de los Enanos in the second part of this festivity
has always been the same, composed in 1925 by Palmeran Domingo Santos
Rodríguez. In just a few seconds, the choir transform into enanos
(dwarfs) and dance the fast and thrilling polka played by the Banda de
Música Municipal de San Miguel (the San Miguel Municipal Music Band).

The enanos will dance all night along the cobbled streets of Santa Cruz de la Palma, which are packed with spectators. Their last dance will take place in front of the Barco de la Virgen, at La Alameda, early in the morning, under the first rays of the sun. And they will say goodbye for five years.

Arinaga Beach

Arinaga Beach is located in the southeast of the island of Gran Canaria. Throughout its long avenue at the edge of the beach can be found Arinaga beach, the area of Risco Verde and some more areas where the tourists and the inhabitants of the village go to sunbathe and swim in its rich waters.

Risco Verde Zone is characterized by small sun with the sea. The views from this area of the beach are amazing. Sea water in this area southeast of the island is known for its wealth and benefits for the skin.
It also has a wealth of flora and fauna, highlighting the "Cabrón Beach", located about 5 minutes by car.Along the avenue we can find in the sea small sculptures, and many fishermen. The sunrises on the beach are spectacular, amazing photos coming to cause the image of the small pier Arinaga as a witness. In addition, the beach is the famous place where we celebrate a major holiday in the Canary Islands, "La Vará del Pescao", where many people gather all the islands to enjoy the fishing pilgrimage.
Finally, restaurants in the area are of excellent quality, I recommend you ask for fish and that is the specialty of the area, being a traditional fishing village.

Tufia beach

Tufia Beach is located in the municipality of Telde, southeast of the island of Gran Canaria.
Tufia beach is a small beach with calm waters and black sand. Stresses the village so close to the sea and the few people that there is going to the beach, are normally only a resident or homeowner there. This beach is declared a Protected Natural Area in 1987.

It is easy to see local fishermen on the beach Tufia. The beach is situated in a natural shelter, which puts them safe from strong currents and waves, what makes a good beach for diving and fishing. Also in Tufia we can find an Aboriginal enclave canary, because we can be talking about the remains of an aboriginal settlement

Charca de Maspalomas (Gran Canaria)

The pond is a small coastal lagoon water out of the former marshes of Maspalomas, which were destroyed by housing developments built in the same environment. It is separated from the sea by a sandbar, it breaks during long rains allowing the renovation of pond water and the entry of fish and other organisms. One of the main characteristics of this ecosystem is its seasonality, which results in large variations in salinity and water volume as well as the communities of birds that visit.

When you walk English beach through the dunes until you reach Maspalomas, you can enjoy some spectacular images, ideal for photographers and models, where many films are made and where you see those pictures you've always seen by all sides of the dunes .
Also near the pond is another place to admire, which is the lighthouse of Maspalomas, which in many sunsets can be seen in the distance the image of Teide (Tenerife). Very near the lighthouse is the entire area known as Meloneras, where the big luxury hotels, shopping centers, casinos and congress hall.

Without doubt, from Playa del Ingles and Meloneras, including the pond, forming an image of dreams for all who visit the south of the island.

Pozo Izquierdo (Gran Canaria)

As I had as a child, the origin of the name of this amazing place was due to the existence of fresh water wells that helped to water the cattle.

The area which is located southeast of the island of Gran Canaria, is characterized by the abundant wind can be found here. Jinamar beach - (Telde, Gran Canaria)

Jinamar Beach is a fabulous place to spend days off. A place where you can practice sports like surfing or bodyboarding waves because there are born.

This beach is near the shopping center Las Terrazas, where the wind is usually moderate, and that is a virgin beach, a few people usually go. Normally we can see there are many water sports athletes.

Maspalomas is simply beautiful and needs to be seen to be believed! Fine white sand and wind-sculpted dunes set against the blue sea are truly an amazing sight. Of course a beach this lovely is going to be popular, especially where the sunbeds are located.

The dunes can be reached by walking through a large arched entrance on Avenida de Tirajana. Walk down a short lane and you will be in the right place. Remember to bring a towel and flip-flops as the sand can get very hot. Every 100 metres or so there are kiosks selling refreshments.

You'll find Maspalomas beach divided into four areas: the first perfect for families and kids, the second and the fourth are nudist zones and the third is popular with the gay community.

Maspalomas beach is a true paradise for all beach and fun lovers, for families with children as well as sun worshippers, especially if you want to get away from the cold north European winter!

Like Playa del Inglés, this beach also offers everything you would look for to enjoy a fabulous day on the sand and in the sunshine. There are all sorts of sports and leisure facilities available including showers as well as lots of beach bars, restaurants and shops. If you would like to go scuba diving, go out on a pedalo or hire a jet-ski, it’s all here for you to enjoy. There are not many shaded areas, so it’s a good idea to hire a sunshade so you can get out of the sun for a while.

Mogán Beach, the small and sheltered beach of Mogan ( beach ) is of fine, clean, pale sand with stunning shallow blue water - a safe bathing haven for all the family. There are canoes and pedalos for hire on the beach along with sun beds and parasols. The promenade separates the beach from the recently built up area immediately behind the front line of souvenir shops, restaurants and bars.

Güigüi (Gran Canaria)

Güigüi or Guguy is a special natural reserve and an ecologically sensitive area near the village of San Nicolas in the southwest of the island of Gran Canaria, Spain. It is characterized by ravines and cliffs composed of a large population of flora (thermophilic, spurges) and fauna (especially birds). Among the cliffs is the beach of the same name to which you have to access more than two hours walking through a mountain or by boat.

Famara (Lanzarote)

Famara Lanzarote,(Canary Islands, Spain).
It is located north of the island, including in the municipalities of Teguise and Haria with a length of 23 km. and is of volcanic origin. The highest point of the massif and the entire island is the Peñas del Chache, with 670 m. altitude. On the west side is a cliff above the beach at Famara and the Atlantic Ocean. Further north is the Mirador del Rio, the work of artist Cesar Manrique, where you can see the island of La Graciosa and the Archipelago Chinijo. Famara Crags host a Special Protection Area for Birds.
Caleta de Famara is also known to the beach at the foot of the mountain and is the northern boundary of El Jable, sandy area that juts into the heart of Lanzarote, and the people of the same name, near the beach and falling the municipality of Teguise. The dominant trade winds on the coast makes the temperatures more moderate than in other areas of the island, and encouraging the practice of water sports like surfing.
